Earthy, cooling and bitter, yellow dock is an herb that aids healthy digestion and elimination. Taken internally, yellow dock root tones tissues in the gastric system with astringent tannins, stimulates enzymes that help break down food, and cleanses the blood and glandular system of lingering toxins by means of elimination.

Yellow dock has an affinity for the liver, is helpful in eruptive skin conditions where weeping is present. Used as an oil or balm externally yellow dock is relieving to hot, inflamed skin conditions. Steeped in a strong infusion, yellow dock root is high in iron and other minerals, and is able to free up iron stored in the liver.

Yellow dock was formerly in the genus Lapathum, derived from the Greek word lapazein which means “to cleanse”. Associated with Jupiter, yellow dock brings balance, health, prosperity and cleansing energy to ritual work.

The root of the yellow dock plant is harvested, cut and steeped in alcohol for at least 8 weeks, then strained and bottled.

Instructions: Place 1-3 dropperfuls of tincture in a small glass of water or directly under the tongue. Best taken between meals, take as needed. Consult with a trusted herbalist or physician if you are nursing, pregnant, or taking other medications.
