Hello, it’s so good to meet you.

I dreamed up the idea behind Orchard Hill Gardens when I realized it was my responsibility to steward the land on which I live. Taking an active role in the health of the soil, the trees, plants and water keeps me rooted as I work toward healthier surroundings for us all.

Since childhood it has been my dream to live off the land, a reciprocal arrangement of love and understanding between nature and myself. I left my jobs bartending and working as a prep chef to raise my daughter a decade ago. That was when the dream started to become a reality. I teach my daughter the lessons I am learning, and the two of us are learning new lessons together. Perhaps more importantly, many lessons have been unlearned as the reality of our global climate crisis has changed the status quo in regards to running a household and a business. In the past few years, I have integrated these lessons into a lifestyle that is sustainable to my family and the land. These lessons include hard work, persistent gratitude and joy, consistent rest, and a constant curiosity about the natural world.

With a background in art and photography, it has felt right to include my artwork on this platform. My whole world is inspired by nature, and so alongside the herbal arts you will find ceramics, textiles, jewelry, drawings, painting, sculpture and many other items made by me. Much more to come!
