Plantain Tincture (Plantago major)

Plantain is a common plant easily found along paths and in the yard.

Plantain has a drawing energy, helping to extract slivers and insect stings. Dab some tincture on a bandage to cover and aid hard-to-extract splinters’ removal. In the same way leaves are a nourishing emollient to the outer skin, plantain fosters healing in our “inside skin”, the digestive tract. Plantain is a good herb to implement in protocol for healing leaky gut.

The leaves and flower stalks of plantain are harvested, cut and steeped in alcohol for at least 8 weeks, then strained and bottled.

Instructions: Place 1-3 dropperfuls of tincture in a small glass of water or directly under the tongue. Best taken between meals, take as needed. Consult with a trusted herbalist or physician if you are nursing, pregnant, or taking other medications.
